Connect Samsara or Motive for live truck positions

If your trucks have a Samsara or Motive device, FleetOne can read their positions, speeds and odometers. All it needs is an API token from your provider account. Go to Settings, then Integrations.

1. Create an API token in your provider account that can read vehicles and their locations. In Samsara it needs read access to Vehicles and Vehicle Statistics. In Motive ask an admin for an API key; Motive support can switch API access on.
2. Paste the token under Telematics and choose Connect. The token is checked straight away and stored encrypted.
3. FleetOne lists your vehicles and matches each one to a truck by VIN, then by unit number. Check the matches and fix any that are wrong, or add the unmatched vehicles as trucks with one click.
4. Positions refresh about every five minutes. Use Sync now for an immediate update, and Look for new vehicles after adding a device.

A truck on an active load reports its position to that load every few minutes, so the tracking map and the customer's tracking link follow the truck. The truck's odometer is kept up to date for maintenance schedules and only ever moves forward.

If the provider rejects the token (it was deleted or expired), the connection shows Needs attention. Paste a new token to fix it. Disconnect deletes the stored token and the vehicle links.

Not included: driver hours-of-service logs, and anything from providers other than Samsara and Motive. Telematics is part of the Business plan.
